Family Day Tours at the Toronto Railway Museum

This summer, we will be unveiling two new tours for visitors to experience: Tales of the Rails and Mechanical Marvels.

Learn more about why railways were introduced to Toronto in the first place, and how the ever-increasing population impacted train travel as we know it. Along with access to our collection, there will be interactive aspects of the tour and guests will learn how railways significantly facilitated and enhanced the development of Toronto into the city we know today. The tours on this day will be an opportunity for us to test out the script and pacing before the summer, so we will seek feedback from the visitors who join us on the tours.

Each tour will be approximately half an hour long, and will take guests on a walk through the park and into some of the passenger cars and buildings in our collection. The tour at 2:00 PM will be the Tales of the Rails tour, and the tour at 3:00 PM will be the Mechanical Marvels tour.

As with our seasonal guided tours in the summer months, we advise attendees that there will be walking on uneven ground involved, as well as climbing ladders and stairs, so registrants will need to be prepared for this level of physical activity. We would also like to inform prospective attendees that there will be no refunds issued on purchases for the tour unless the event is cancelled by the event organizer.

Please dress for the weather and icy park conditions. Your ticket will also provide admission to the museum for the day. We look forward to seeing you this Family Day long weekend!
