Every Woman Campaign

Straight/Curve film producer and former model, Jess Lewis, is thrilled to present Canada’s debut inclusivity campaign, Every Woman Campaign, which not only aims to revitalize the face of Canadian fashion, but also challenge the status quo of imagery in Canadian media. Does it truly reflect the diverse society we live in?

The Every Woman team is extremely proud to realize this campaign to the benefit of our Toronto community and CAMH in a public gallery showing at the Gladstone Hotel on Wednesday, August 1st, 2018. “Every Woman takes a bold stance against exclusive beauty ideals and how damaging they can be to their target audience, namely women and young girls,” says Jess Lewis, the campaign producer.

“My hope is that the Every Woman campaign can stand as proof that the there is a demand in the Canadian market for more diverse imagery and that the resources to produce these images are right here within our grasp. I believe that once publications, retailers and brands commit to creating content reflective of our society, that not only will they reap the financial rewards, but be applauded for their socially conscious actions in contributing to a healthier society all around.”

The Every Woman campaign presents the women in the photographs not just as fashion models, but as role models who are individuals empowered beyond their physical beauty. The photos showcase these women’s confidence that they are worthy of not only having their faces seen, but having their voices and opinions heard as well. This campaign acts as a starting point to bolster pre-existing inclusivity and diversity conversations and take them to the next level while also making the critical connection between public health and media.”

Every Woman features a diverse cast of both professional models and street cast women, supporting the idea that Every Woman deserves to have her voice heard and see herself reflected in the media. Curve and straight size models, a pregnant 40+ single mom to be, a trans woman, south asian women and more, the campaign cast and crew make up a completely Canadian, female-identifying team. The campaign is also proud to present completely unretouched images.

Join us on Wednesday, August1 at the Gladstone Hotel for a fundraiser gallery show, which will include the final images of the campaign, and a conversation with the women involved in the campaign. The event is open to the public and FREE!
