A meet up led by the Ethiopian and Eritrean Workers Network of the Toronto and York Region Labour Council

Calling all Eritrean and Ethiopian newcomers, workers and community members! Join us for a community gathering and creative workshop. In search for opportunity, many of us arrived in Canada through great sacrifice, leaving our dreams, degrees, families, and professions in Eritrea and Ethiopia. For many of our community members, we are represented in working roles that are precarious and unprotected. In this workshop, we will learn to dramatize our stories and experiences into scenes that help us reflect on our relationship to work and the power we hold. Together, we will also discuss finding employment opportunities, unions, and knowing your rights in the workplace.
