DRAKE PRESENTS: ARMY GIRLS & BY DIVINE RIGHT
DRAKE PRESENTS: ARMY GIRLS & BY DIVINE RIGHT WITH SUPPORT FROM AMELIA MAXWELL.
Close out the summer with one last night of indie rock, garage pop, and good old-fashioned rock ’n’ roll at Drake Underground on August 28.
For one night only, Army Girls and By Divine Right take the stage for a double-header, with Toronto-based rock musician Amelia Maxwell opening the night.
Amelia Maxwell is a queer Toronto-based rock musician whose melodic, story-driven songs move between the personal, interpersonal, and fictional, exploring themes of nostalgia, boyhood, control, jealousy, and disaffection.
By Divine Right is a Canadian rock ’n’ roll art project known for their psych-infused, art-pop sound. Their latest release, Otto Motto, is another chapter in a long-running catalogue built around experimentation, energy, and something a little unexpected.
After a 12-year hiatus, Army Girls are back. Featuring Carmen Elle (DIANA, Austra) on guitar and vocals and Andy Smith (Doldrums, Heartbeat Hotel) on drums, the duo brings a fierce garage-pop sound that blends ’60s girl-group melodies, grunge, and irresistible rock ’n’ roll.
