Documentary Screening and Panel: "The Impossible Swim"
Join us at Beach United Church for a screening of the marathon swim documentary The Impossible Swim (2018), followed by a panel with marathon swimmer and star of the documentary, Maya Farrell, one of the directors of the film Larry Weinstein, and marathon swimmer (and first openly trans person to swim across Lake Ontario) Lev Goldberg.
This inspiring film tells the story of 16-year-old swimmer Maya Farrell's quest to swim across Lake Ontario at its widest part, with support from her family and legendary marathon swimmers Marilyn Bell and Vicki Keith. This heartwarming film is about the courage it takes to chase big goals, and the strength and support that comes from those who believe in us.
Proceeds from this event will help pay for Lev's 55km swim across Lake Huron in August 2026, which is a fundraiser for LGBT Youthline.
