DJ Skate Nights: Soul Kitchen

The world famous Soul Kitchen returns to the Natrel Rink to end 2018 with a little soul on the ice. Groove along to an evening of R&B and soul-infused music as Soul Kitchen alumnus DJ Lissa Monet and MC Kid Kut bring the heat to Natrel Rink. From Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye to Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake – all music from the soul has a home in the Kitchen. Grab a plate and get your serving!

Ian Andre Espinet's world renowned Soul Kitchenis an embodiment of the music of the great R&B and soul artists who pioneered the genre, and a continuance of their path. Its focus is to present an outlet for the often under-appreciated genre of soul, as represented in its varied forms including but not limited to R&B (rhythm and blues), new jack (late 80s, early 90s R&B), the Motown era and neo (current), as well as hybrid relatives such as hip hop soul and vocal house. This event is a manifestation of their music, and a celebration of real music. For music lovers only. No posing. No pretense.
