Covered in Cash: Johnny Cash Tribute

Saturday May 21st, the Linsmore Tavern is very excited to welcome back Covered in Cash: Johnny Cash Tribute who also happen to be the Premier Johnny Cash Tribute Bands in all of Canada! Covered in Cash will soon embark on a US Tour, so it’s great that we are able to get them in before they leave and they will definitely bring THE RING OF FIRE! We had heard so many amazing things about this band and all or their legendary shows at the An Sibin, and man have they delivered with a so many SOLD-OUT shows and memorable evenings over the years at the Linsmore! After seeing them perform at the Linsmore consistently over the last few years, we can confidently say that they are not just any Johnny Cash Tribute Band, they are the Best Johnny Cash Cover Band in Canada!

Featuring Rick Aulier as Johnny Cash who happened to own the very popular Irish Bar on Queen Street – An Sibin, where Covered in Cash played many capacity filled and memorable shows over the years at this popular bar! Rick Aulier doesn’t try to be an impersonator of Johnny Cash, but if you closed your eyes and started the set by saying, “Hello I’m Johnny Cash”, for one fitting moment you would fee you just heard the voice of the man in black. His contagious banter on stage draws you in and every now and then, when it gets more rockabily than country, Rick Aulier tones it down with heartfelt ballads like the swan song of Cash, “Hurt”.

Guitarist Paul Morgan Husiak has had a solid decades-long career with his own bands, The Paul Morgan Project, WheelHouse, and Southern Sky (southern rock tribute). He has also been a full time member of the Elton Rohn Band, the world’s premiere tribute to Elton John. Versatility has always been one Paul’s strengths.

Drummer Dan Neumann has been hitting the tubs for neigh on 25 years. His main playing experience was in Europe, where he played with Nina Hagen, Dr. & the Medics, Gino Washington, Jamie Cullum among many others. In Toronto, he actively teaches drums at schools and privately. He also plays with known Canadian artists such as Ken Whitely, with whom he recorded an album of children’s songs.

Howard Rabkin (bass), was born in Montreal and started playing bass at

the age of 14. He played with a host of Montreal-based bar and concert

bands, sharing stages with Jesse Winchester, George Duke, Billy

Cobham, John Scofield. He became a touring musician, travelling

throughout Eastern Canada, eventually moving to Toronto in the’80s.

An eclectic performer, he has worked as a bassist, pedal steel

guitarist and acoustic guitarist with many artists, live and on

recordings, and in most genres — from Rock, Pop, Blues, Folk,

Country, Disco ( yes..even that!) playing both original music and

covers. Howard was part of the 90’s indie recording band “the deli

llamas” with Staggered Crossing’s guitarist Bruce Adamson and since

then has been the bass player of choice for many local Toronto artists

and bands.

Covered in Cash is a great tribute to a great artist! This show is definitely going to be a SELL-OUT, so get your tickets now! Tickets are only $8 in advance, $10 at the door! You can buy tickets at the bar or at www.linsmoretavern.com
