Featuring a panel of speakers including Arianna Inurritegui-Lint via Skype, Monica Forrester and other trans activists of colour for a sharing and discussion of experiences within and around the trans movements happening today.

ARIANNA INURRITEGUI-LINT

Arianna Inurritegui-Lint is a transgender woman originally from Peru, where she graduated from law school. She has been working for the Florida Health Department in the field of HIV/AIDS since 2006. As a transgender woman, she has seen firsthand how her own community has been ravished by this life altering disease. Now Arianna split her time in her state job, and as part of the Trans-Latina Coalition, Arianna is currently seeking her Masters in Social Work at UCF.

MONICA FORRESTER

Monica Forrester is a 2-spirit black queer trans femme. Monica has spent the past 25 years as a part of the trans community and is presently working at Maggies Toronto as their Engagement Coordinator, working toward awareness, inclusion, and accessibility for all sex workers. Monica is also the Grand Marshall for the 2014 Trans March.

Ben Peto is the first staff member of Ryerson to openly transition at Ryerson University. Ben works at the Faculty of Communication, Art & Design and was influential in calling on the university to create accessible & ethical policy and funding for transitioning staff & faculty members.
