The modern classic Catan has become a tabletop pillar of enjoyment, hysteria and fraught across the globe. In any circle that Catan gets played, friends clash in frenzy and fervor around the hex tile boardscape. It remains one of very few titles to break the barrier between hobby gaming and mainstream pastime. Claiming Catan supremacy amongst friends is akin to declaring oneself as the best Mario Kart 64 player - often met with offence and argument. The only way to settle the debate is to crack open the iconic red and yellow box and roll dice.
Catan Showdown will take place at Snakes & Lattes College (489 College St) on Tuesday June 28, at 7pm (Learn to Play seminar starts at 6pm).
