By Any Means
Curated by Emily Pelstring and Lesley Marshall
Compiling the work of some of the most original women animators operating against the grain, this program presents a number of approaches to mixed-media, lo-fi, glitch and collage techniques. Animations made with discarded materials and unusual processes examine inner and outer spaces, new and old technologies, the future, past, and troubled present. Harrowing tales and scathing critiques bubble beneath surfaces that are at once hilarious and haunting. Limitations are embraced in innovative ways; stories are told by any means necessary.
