Breakthrough T1D Walk - Together we Walk for a future free from type 1 diabetes
Breakthrough T1D™ Walk is the largest fundraising event in Canada that unites the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community in support of the close to 300,000 Canadians with T1D.
People with T1D must constantly monitor blood glucose levels and take external insulin, either by pump, multiple daily injections or pen to stay alive. And even with the most vigilant management, there are risks of potentially life-altering complications. T1D is a relentless autoimmune disease - that has no cure, yet.
The Walk is one of the longest standing and most successful fundraising events in the country and has a fundraising goal of more than $3 million from Walks held across Canada.
This is more than a Walk, it’s a movement to end T1D.
