Break the Fake: Finding truth in a world of "fake news"

Join Timothy Caulfield, author of Is Gwyneth Paltrow Wrong About Everything?, Ramona Pringle, Associate Professor in the RTA School of Media at Ryerson University, Matthew Johnson, Director of Education at MediaSmarts and host Jayme Poisson from the CBC podcast Front Burner, for a lively discussion on one of today’s most important issues: the spread of online misinformation.

We all have a part to play in tackling “fake news.” At this livestreamed Media Literacy Week event you’ll hear why MediaSmarts is encouraging Canadians to Break the Fake by checking whether information is true before sharing it and learn ways of coping in today’s increasingly complex media environment.

Please note this event will take place in English. For accommodation requests please contact info@habilomedias.ca
