A community BMX event is inviting the public to take part in an open, all ages summer kickoff at Lake Wilcox Skatepark in Richmond Hill.

Ward10’s Annual Summer Jam returns on May 16, 2026, starting at 12 p.m., with a strong emphasis on accessibility and participation. The event is free to attend and open to everyone whether you are an experienced BMX rider, just starting out, or simply looking to watch and enjoy the atmosphere.

Unlike traditional competitions, the jam style format encourages riders of all skill levels to drop in, ride at their own pace, and take part in activities throughout the day. Featured highlights include a Best Trick contest and a Highest Air challenge, both designed to be inclusive and welcoming rather than highly structured or exclusive.

Spectators are equally part of the experience, with a casual, festival like environment built around the skatepark. Giveaways will run throughout the event, alongside a frame raffle offering cash or equivalent prizes. Free drinks will also be available for attendees, helping create a relaxed, community oriented setting.

The event is supported by a range of BMX and lifestyle brands including MacNeil, Merritt, Northern Hydration, OGC BMX, Harvester Bikes, Fifteen Distribution, and Rixin, reflecting strong grassroots support for the local BMX scene.
