Blue Coffee Reading Series #6: Bnoo Zan, Jim Johnstone, and Mat Laporte

Proud to present readings by Bnoo Zan, Jim Johnstone, and Mat Laporte. Hosted by Leigh Beadon.

Bnoo Zan landed in Canada in 2010. In her country of origin, Iran, she used to teach English Literature at universities. She has published poems, translations, biographies, and articles in print and online publications around the globe. Her book of poetry Songs of Exile will be published in 2016 by Guernica Editions. She is the editor and compiler of Scarlet Thistles: A Canadian Poetry Anthology by the Ontario Poetry Society. She hosts Shab-e Sher Poetry Night in Toronto and believes that her politics is her poetry.

Jim Johnstone is the author of 4 books of poetry, including Dog Ear Vehicule Press, 2014 and Patternicity Nightwood Editions, 2010. He is the poetry editor at Palimipsest Press, and an associate editor at Representative Poetry Online.

Mat Laporte is the author of a few chapbooks: Demons, Billboards from Hell, and more recently Life Savings. He makes small press chapbooks with the publishing collective Ferno House and lives in Toronto.

Doors open at 8:00pm and first reader is on at 8:30pm.
