With songs loosely tied together by themes of entitlement, arrogance and selfishness, On Vanity provides and comments on various examples of human desire, conscious or not, to be admired.

It is a record about human agency and representation and our attempts to navigate through it all, limited as we are by the frailty of our physiology.

Wittgenstein once said that if it can't be said then it can't be thought. The content of the record should explain that concept to listeners by saying what we are.
