Blockorama 20

About Blockorama: Curated and organized by the community collective Blackness Yes!, Blockorama showcases Black queer and trans history, creativity and resistance. Blackness Yes! has cultivated a space where *the original* sea of beautiful Blackness sways to the groove of Soca, R&B, Soulful House, Afrobeat and Hip Hop. Without a doubt, Blocko has been the most dynamic and remains one of the most enjoyable events at Toronto’s Pride celebrations since its inception in 1998.

Celebrating 20 years, Blackness Yes! and Blockorama return to the Wellesley Stage bigger and badder than ever.

This will be huge. Celebrate Blockorama’s 20th anniversary together with Blackness Yes! and Toronto’s Black, Caribbean, and African communities. This stage is an automatic party with an always-impressive and high-energy lineup of hosts, DJs, and performers. Blocko is one of Pride’s biggest and busiest stages, with a long history of mixing activism and partying.

Located in the Wellelsey Main Stage, Blockorama is a powerful space uniting and engaging communities through 11 hours of musical performances, words, visual art, images and dance. DJs, performers and musical acts on stage and art installations, vendors and community hubs make Blocko the place to be on Pride Sunday. Blocko is headlined this year by R&B Legends, SWV - one of the greatest R&B acts of all time, known for their hits Im So Into You, You’re the One, Rain and many others. Join us and DJs Blackcat, Tamika, Pleasure, Nik Red and Craig Dominic on Pride Sunday at the Budlight Wellesley stage for a birthday celebration for the ages, featuring music, art, fashion and a community marketplace with vendors and food.

We have a raised disability viewing area accessible from Maitland Street.
