The Discovery Centre Artists-In-Residence Workshop Series continues on May 7th!

Artscape Atelier, in partnership with Lakeview Village presents the 'Wiigwaas Series - Beaded Birch Bark Pendant keychain' virtual workshop, led by indigenous artist Naomi Smith from Black Tulip Designs.

The Wiigwaas (Birch Bark) series combines traditional Indigenous ways of knowing along with a creative experience that will provide practical knowledge along with the artist’s interpretation of working with natural materials. In this online workshop, participants will create a contemporary beaded birch bark looking keychain. Seed beads along with soft deer hide will be utilized. The workshop will focus on working with seed beads using tubular peyote to create a one of a kind art piece.
