Beyond The Rainbow
Beyond the Rainbow is a one man, multi-media play, incorporating DVD projection, music, pre-recorded news stories, and sound effects, all combined with the performance of the actor, ADRIAN PROSZOWSKI. Set against the tumultuous backdrop of the global human and gay rights movement, Alex, a young gay man struggles to find his way in the world, and how he fits in. Beyond the Rainbow takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride, beginning with the StoneWall Riots, to the present. Obsessed with movies, Alex endures, and escapes to a fantasy world of old films when tragedy strikes, which presents a naive innocent side of Alex, even as he grows to a young adult. Facing and enduring family rejection, suicide, love, loss of a partner, HIV, and finally family acceptance, self respect, and his place in the world, Alex finds a way to overcome and still hangs onto his dreams of hope, that there is a better world. A drama that tugs at the heart, while still possessing the ability of making you laugh with joy over Alex's personal conflicts, as he rises above them, and the absurdities of discrimination. Guaranteed to thoroughly satiate the viewers' palate.
