Authors at Caversham: Rosemary Richings on thriving as a neurodivergent person

An afternoon of insights and practical information for neurodivergent young people, and anyone interested in better understanding and accommodating their needs

Rosemary Richings is a writer, editor, and public speaker specializing in neurodiversity. She is the author of two books: Stumbling Through Space and Time: Living Life With Dyspraxia, and the forthcoming Studying With Dyspraxia. Her writing has been featured in Travel + Leisure, Broken Pencil Magazine, Happiful Magazine, and numerous other websites.

Rosemary will give a presentation on navigating school and the workforce as a neurodivergent person.

In Stumbling Through Space and Time: Living Life With Dyspraxia, Rosemary shares her experience of growing up dyspraxic, and how it impacts her sense of space, time and coordination. Diagnosed with DCD at the age of four, Rosemary shares her insights and experience dealing with challenges, from coping with bullies in school to choosing a dyspraxia-friendly university, pursuing self-employment and travelling abroad.

In Studying with Dyspraxia, Rosemary helps readers to understand what to expect at university and gives support in adjusting to a more independent lifestyle. Crucially, the book helps students to implement study strategies that really work.

Accessibility Note: Rosemary will bring a small, self-contained sensory support table (quiet tools for regulation and focus). Attendees will be free to leave and come back, or move around the room, while the event is in progress.
