AstroTours Earth Hour: In Darkness There Is Light

The University of Toronto's AstroTours is holding a special event for Earth Hour! As always, admission is free to the planetarium shows, telescope viewing, interactive demonstrations and to the talk itself. This year, Professor Suresh Sivanandam will be speaking about how infrared astronomy can reveal the secrets of the universe. Stick around after the talk for free refreshments and star gazing (weather permitting!) with the University of Toronto's telescope.

The night begins with planetarium shows starting at 6pm (free tickets, but online registration is required, check our website for details http://www.astro.utoronto.ca/astrotours/?page_id=1778). If you miss out on those, there will be more free tickets available after the talk.

Professor Sivanandam will begin his talk in the Earth Sciences Centre at 7pm, with stargazing and more planetarium shows to follow starting at 8pm in the McLennan Physical Sciences building across the street (60 St George Street).
