Artist's Talk: Margaret Priest
Join Toronto artist Margaret Priest for an illustrated talk on her drawings, sculptures, paintings and prints to coincide with the exhibition of The Monument to Construction Workers, and a selection of related drawings and sculptures from the late 1980s to mid-2000s.
Margaret Priest was born in Tyringham, Buckinghamshire, England in 1944, and received her MFA from the Royal College of Art in London. She has exhibited in museums, public galleries and private art galleries worldwide since 1970. Priest’s work can be found in numerous collections, both public and private. She has won major public commissions including the Monument to Construction Workers in Cloud Gardens Park, Toronto, for which she, the architects and landscape architects were awarded a Governor General’s Award for Architecture. Priest is Professor Emeritus at the University of Guelph and a visiting lecturer at universities and schools of art and architecture in North America.
