This landmark exhibition will feature a curated selection of modern quilts by members of the TMQG - a vibrant community of designers and makers dedicated to exploring quilting as both craft and contemporary art. Quilting enthusiasts, design lovers, families and visitors of all ages are invited to explore the unique visual language of modern quilting through bold colour, innovative composition, and craftsmanship.
“We are thrilled to bring the passion and creativity of Toronto’s modern quilting community to a broader audience,” said Cristina De Miranda, Quilt Designer and Co-Chair of the event. “This showcase is a celebration of innovation, artistic expression and the thriving maker culture right here in our city.”
The Showcase will feature a display of over 100 stunning quilts and visitors can purchase unique art pieces made by members. Visitors of all ages can participate in a community quilt project that will benefit a family in need and try their hand at different quilting techniques. The showcase also provides opportunities for local businesses, creatives and sponsors to partner with the Guild, support the arts, and connect directly with an engaged audience of makers and craft enthusiasts.
