Peter McPhee

Born and raised in Toronto, Peter McPhee, as a poet, feature reader, producer, facilitator, curator, promoter and occasional host was an integral presence in the city's living poetry community. His public readings developed a reputation for their music, humour, insight and innovation. He was The Scream In High Park's artistic director from 1994 to 2000. He is the author of Running Unconscious (Coach House 2000). His live CD The Sound of Filling Hollow is considered a benchmark in Canadian poetry recordings. (Exclaim!). His fifteen year collaboration with guitarist composer Tim Posgate includes the CD In the future of your dream (The Words of Peter McPhee) (2004, Guildwoodrecords.com). He lives in the Slocan Valley in BC where he is currently founding Watershed: a festival of new work.
