Architextures:: Lunity ~ Risa, Tchera, Win
Welcome to Lunity:: a space to unite under the moon to share in music, community and dance!
This week it is with great excitement that we invite a dear friend who is making waves on the Quebec music scene, Risa. We are happy to host his Toronto debut, alongside Tchera, one of Toronto's own, bringing the deep melodic beats to the dance floor, along with Lunity's resident DJ Win.
Influenced by the sounds of International and urban tones as well as the underground scene of Mexico city in the 90s, Risa began his Dj journey in 2005 on ancient sacred Mayan grounds.
He landed in British Columbia in 2008 and right away started involving himself in the Sound System culture. Since 2010, has been a regular on the Canadian East coast festival circuit, having performed notably at Eclipse Festival, Space Gathering, Open Mind, Timeless and many more....
Currently residing in Sherbrooke, Quebec Risa is co-founder of 3 different projects:
Onderground: Going strong since 2016 working on promotion of underground House & Techno and subgenres.
Bemba: A newborn co-founded project of Risa promoting downtempo music the likes of Slow Techno and electronic folklore music.
Digital Station: Dedicated to the Reggae & DubSound System Culture.
Risa has play along with artists such as Hatcha(UK), Barnt (Cologne), Face T / Poirie (CA) Truth(NZ), Be Svendsen (DK) Thomash (DEU/BRA), Ondubground(FR), Sainte Vie(MX), Speakeasy Electro Swing Montréal (CA), R. Vincenzo (BR), Soom T (UK), Thomas Von party (CA/DEU), UpRoot Andy (US), EXZ (Brazil) among others. His music style incorporates fusion between Nu Cumbia, Voodoohop, Ketapop, Deep Hoouse, Techno, West Coast Bass, Balkan Beat, Dub, Moombhaton, and the list goes on !
Win moved to Toronto from the East Coast 6 years ago, and immediately found inspiration in the incredible Toronto electronic music scene. After years of immersing herself in music and becoming a regular on Toronto dance floors, she bought herself a secondhand controller and since then she has never turned back. She is the founder of Nomada Project, a live music and deep house fusion event in Toronto, and she is a resident DJ at Architextures. Win's sets are inspired by the rhythms of the globe blending together deep house, downtempo electronica and world fusion.

As we gather each week, we acknowledge the history, spirituality, culture, and longstanding relationships which include practices of caring for the Land, Water and all beings in creation that have been maintained by the Indigenous peoples of this region. In particular we acknowledge the current treaty holders, the six nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Mississaugas of the New Credit, who are Anishinaabe Ojibwe people as well as the history of the Huron Wendat. We seek to live in respect, peace, and right relations with our human and more than human communities as we live, work, dance and share our art & music upon their traditional territory. We are mindful of broken treaties and the need to establish respectful relationships.
