Aqua's Red Rhythm & Blues

Guild Festival Theatre’s summer starts with a special concert on July 3rd at 7:30pm by Aqua's Red Rhythm & Blues, bringing stories of Indigenous hope and resilience to the Greek Theatre through music and dance. We can't wait to welcome Aqua to the park and celebrate the launch of our 14th summer season!

Aqua’s Red Rhythm & Blues explores themes of resilience in overcoming intergenerational trauma, mental health, addictions, homelessness, and violence. As a survivor and warrior, Aqua brings poetry to rhythm with the help of their hand drum. Rooted in their Anishinaabe heritage and accompanied by their Queer guitarist, Valentina Morelli, talented violist, Alex George, and Indigenous fancy shawl dancer, Nichole Leveck, this group creates space for healing through the soothing sounds of strings and unforgettable harmonies. They engage with the audience in a beautiful way, bringing together traditions that span Nations and generations. Storytelling is at their core, leaving each person with the feeling that they are not alone.
