Antrum: The Deadliest Film Ever Made | Rue Morgue Magazine

A NOTE FROM THE PRODUCERS:

"This section seeks to clarify a few points about the film Antrum, the latest release by Else Films.

Antrum was shot sometime in the late 1970’s most likely somewhere in Southern California. Many people in the cinephile community believe Antrum is cursed, since it was closely tied with a number of disturbing incidents that had occurred in both the United States and Eastern Europe throughout the 1980’s.

Namely a number of people have died, or been seriously injured during or shortly after watching this film. As a result of these incidents Antrum disappeared, or was deliberately buried by people who were apprehensive about its continued screening.

There is very little information online about this film, likely because the bulk of the film's events had occurred before the widespread use of the internet. Also, enough time has passed where many that have heard of Antrum pass it off as myth or superstitious rumor. There is a community of people however, that truly believe that this film is cursed and that its ability to cause harm is in fact real.

It was in December of 2014 that the Else Films film production company (owned and operated by Michael Laicini and David Amito) found Antrum for sale on an online film forum specializing in the exchange of obscure films. Else Films purchased it from the seller Grace Wajtowics, herself an avid cinephile and professional film collector.

This latest release of Antrum, has been re-titled Antrum: The Deadliest Film Ever Made because it is preceded by a 15-minute documentary before the original, un-altered version of the film begins. This documentary commissioned by Else Films, examines the history of this film, explores expert interviews and offers a technical investigation into the physical print of the film. Its purpose is to present all the information associated with this film to the viewing audience, so that they may decide for themselves whether or not they choose to watch it.

For further information watch the extended interviews found on this site." (antrumdeadliestfilm.com)
