Annual Remembrance Day Ceremony at Mount Pleasant Cemetery

Members of the public, school groups, area residents are invited to attend a Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) hosted Remembrance Day Ceremony at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto on November 11 at 10 a.m. to honour and remember those who have given their lives for Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace.

The ceremony will be held at the steps of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Mausoleum* near the monument for First World War veteran and the most decorated war hero in the history of Canada, the British Empire and the Commonwealth of Nations, Lieutenant-Colonel/Wing Commander William Barker, V.C., D.S.O., M.C.

Royal Canadian Air Force members from 16 Wing Borden will parade and lay poppy wreaths that represent remembrance.

Canada has a strong and proud military heritage. On the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour, we stop and maintain silence for two minutes to think about our veterans, and those who never lived to be recognized as veterans.

We will remember them.
