// Animal Parts

What’s true of this reformed quartet is “what’s old ain’t exactly new again.” Headed still by Josh Cockerill, the AP cadres have taken their summer to lounging poolside, growing facial hair, basting in chlorinic waters, then being blasted by the sun. Rinse & Repeat. A quotidian lifestyle of such adds breeze between the chords, a lilt to the backbeat, and an imp of stupefacience to the vocal choirings. There’s new music on the docket, two new records to be sure, and persistent rumours of a book of poetry. Who knows?? By the looks of it, not even JCo himself, who’s somnambulant & blowing bubbles in a kiddy pool. So stay tuned cherished listeners! If it’s true every band has its day, then maybe a good band might just have two.

// Run Coyote

Run Coyote is a rock’n’roll / Spaghetti Western band from Ontario. The band soundtracks a mix of late nights on city streets and Western landscapes through twangy guitars and 60’s arrangements and rhythms. Run Coyote is brothers Sam (vocals/guitar) and Jake Allen (guitar), Amanda Grant (vocals/bass), and Jeremy Ramos-Foley (drums). The band is currently working on their next album.

// Wired To The Sky

Wired To The Sky is the newest project from Canadian songwriter, Dylan Perkons. After relocating from Montreal to the West Coast, he began performing new material with a group of Vancouver Island musicians and inspiration took flight. In late 2016 the band entered the studio to record their debut album, produced by Juno Award-winner Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Black Mountain, Destroyer). The upcoming 2017 release, titled Steady Sparrow, Steady Flight finds Perkons' residing comfortably in a post-Americana landscape. Though his dusty baritone remains at the front and centre of the album, the dynamic arrangements carry the listener through the songs. The album features contributions from musicians Nevada Brown, Pat McTaggart, Dave Thompson, Kathryn Calder, Laura Mina Mitic, Marc Jenkins, Michael Vance Lewis and Megan McCaffrey. Swaying between colorful indie folk, eerie psych blues, and blistering alt-country, the band compliments the earnest, somewhat melancholy writing woven throughout the songs. Wired To The Sky will be touring Canada through summer/fall 2017.
