A Childhood Journal Inspired IssaBel's New Single "Two Faced" - Years Later, She Finally Understood What It Meant

TORONTO, ON – Emerging indie pop singer-songwriter IssaBel will release her new single,"TwoFaced," on June 30, 2026. What began as a lyric from her childhood journal, has evolved into a deeply personal reflection on authenticity and

unapologetically embracing who you are.

Long before she stepped into a recording studio, little IssaBel filled notebooks with song ideas and lyrics. One journal, iconically labeled "Please Don't Open or I Will

Put You In Jail," contained a hook that would eventually become the foundation of "Two Faced," that she finished writing during her teenage years.

At its heart,"Two Faced" is about authenticity and the courage to show up as yourself, even when not everyone will understand or approve. "In a world where so much feels filtered and curated, I think people are craving authenticity,"says IssaBel.

"People want something real. They want to connect with people who are willing to

be themselves, flaws and all."

The song began as an observation about people who change themselves to fit in. But during the recording process, she realized she was doing something similar as an artist. While experimenting with different versions of the track, IssaBel found herself comparing her voice and style to artists she admired such as Adelle. Then I had this moment where I thought - “There's already an Adele. Why would I want to

be her when I can be me?'" After multiple recordings and revisions, she and

her producer unexpectedly returned to the very first raw vocal take.

Raw. Imperfect. Honest.

In many ways, choosing the imperfect take became the ultimate expression of the song's message.

In that moment, the song revealed a second meaning. What began as a reflection on the masks people wear became a reminder for IssaBel to trust her own voice,

instincts, and identity. Raised in Brockville in Ontario's 1000 Islands region

and now based in Toronto, IssaBel has steadily built a following through her original music, live performances, and emotionally driven songwriting. While influenced by artists including Carrie Underwood, Selena Gomez, and Zac Brown, she has

developed her own songwriting style rooted in honesty, reflection, and emotional connection. "Two Faced" follows earlier releases including "Devotion," "Human Like Me," and "Scream Out,"songs written during a formative chapter of her life that

she felt committed to bringing into the world. For IssaBel, releasing "Two Faced" isn't just about sharing a song. It's about honoring the younger version of herself who dreamed of becoming an artist in the first place. "The version of me who wrote that lyric had big dreams," she says."Releasing this song feels like proof those dreams were worth believing in.

With "Two Faced," IssaBel encourages listeners to spend less time becoming who they think they should be and more time embracing who they already are. Both a reflection on where IssaBel been and a glimpse of where she's headed next.
