A Build-Your-Own Adult Summer Camp Afternoon #1
A build-your-own summer camp afternoon in a beautiful Toronto park.
QS Garden Party is a sober, daytime gathering where everyone brings a piece of the day — food for the potluck, an activity, a craft, an instrument, a costume change — and we build the afternoon together.
No two will look the same.
The location is TTC-adjacent and revealed Saturday morning via email to ticket holders. Wear something colourful you wouldn't normally wear on a Saturday.
The bet: most weekends happen to us. We scroll, we attend, we leave. This is the opposite — one park, one afternoon, everyone contributes, and we make something that exists exactly once.
What to bring:
- Food or drink to share for the potluck (no alcohol)
- A blanket or yoga mat for lounging
- An activity, craft, instrument, game, or weird object you want to share
- Optional: a skill you want to teach a small group (a stretch, a song, a repair, a recipe — register as a mini-facilitator on the sign-up form)
What we provide: the framework, the location, soft opener, and a loose schedule that gets built around what people bring.
The shape of the day:
11:00am — Arrive, settle in
11:30 — Soft opener and intros
12:00–1:00 — Potluck lunch
1:00–4:00 — Optional mini-sessions led by attendees (yoga, mending, tai chi, and whatever folks offer)
4:00–5:00 — Golden hour, linger
5:00 — Pack out, leave no trace
The rules:
18+, no alcohol
No screens, no speakers, low tech — we're here to be present
Arrive on time, 11am sharp
Pack out what you bring in
The series: QS Experiences plans to run Garden Parties every two weeks through the summer, in different parks across the city. Each one is unique — shaped by whoever shows up and what they bring. This is event #1.
Weather call by Friday evening. $10–15 sliding scale at the door, with an optional donation to support future QS events.
