60 Years of Made in Italy

June marks Italian Heritage Month in Toronto: a time to celebrate and acknowledge Italian-Canadians and their commitment to contributing to Canada’s rich and diverse cultural mosaic.

Yorkville Village is bringing Italian culture to the heart of Toronto with the world-renowned fashion exhibition, 60 Years of Made in Italy. In partnership with The Consulate General of Italy and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, the travelling exhibit will be displayed in the Upper and Lower Oval inside Yorkville Village from June 1 – 30, 2018.

Having stopped in Tokyo, Dubai, Moscow and ten other cities around the globe, Yorkville Village will be the first Canadian location of this travelling exhibit developed by StilePromoltalia and Glagano & Tota Associati. The one-of-a-kind showcase tells the story of Italian fashion from its inception in Florence in 1951, through to its evolution in notable modern day design. Featuring couture creations designed by international fashion leaders—think Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli—in sequence with accessories, films and photographs, 60 Years of Made in Italy is an exclusive opportunity to interact with some of the most iconic brands and garments in Italian fashion’s history.

Home to more than 50 items, the 60 Years of Made in Italy 2018 exhibition will feature thoughtfully selected garments worn on some of the biggest nights in fashion history, including the Oscars Red Carpet and namely film premieres across decades.

Visit The Oval in Yorkville Village during the month of June to be immersed in and explore the rich history of Italian fashion and design.

Entrance to the exhibit is free and open to the public from June 1-30, following standard shopping centre hours.
