Acclaimed Toronto-based photojournalist Racheal McCaig will present a major new exhibition as part of the 2026 CONTACT Photography Festival, spotlighting two decades of theatre photography in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association.

Featuring portraits of legendary Canadian actors including Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, and many more, the exhibition underscores the depth and cultural significance of McCaig’s archive.

Titled 50/20, the exhibition brings together a powerful body of work captured over 20 years through McCaig’s lens, documenting the vitality, intimacy, and evolution of Canada’s theatre community. The collection offers a rare, behind-the-scenes and onstage perspective of artists, productions, and defining moments that have shaped the country’s performing arts landscape.
