25th Anniversary Toronto Passion Play

Toronto’s longest running Passion Play, hitting the stage March 25th

The Christian Performing Arts Centre, in association with Church on the Queensway, is celebrating their 25th Anniversary of the Toronto Passion Play! A dramatic and dynamic theatrical production. The Toronto Passion Play is a long-standing Easter tradition that has already been seen by 300,000 Torontonians since it first began in 1991. This bigger than life musical production features a cast and crew of over 150, including singers, dancers, actors as well as live animals and a full orchestra. This Easter they will hit the stage for five presentations from March 25th to March 27th in the 3,200-seat theatre at Church on the Queensway.

With close to 16,000 annual attendees, the musical has become a favourite with most shows experiencing capacity crowds. This presentation is known for its powerful portrayal of the life of Christ, dramatic resurrection, and ascension scenes.

“Billions of people around the world recognize and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus”, explains Arthur Wachnik, CPA Centre Director, Actor and Recording Artist. “We are proud to help thousands understand the rich historical and social context in which Jesus came to communicate his life changing message.”
