2001: A Space Odyssey at the Cinesphere
Cinesphere at Ontario Place will host the 50th anniversary celebration of Stanley Kubrick’s science fiction masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), screening the film in IMAX® 70MM film for the first time, in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures.
As one of four selected IMAX theatres in North America chosen to screen the IMAX 70MM film version for a limited time, the iconic Cinesphere will give moviegoers the opportunity to see the seminal film on the largest possible screen, creating a truly immersive experience – the way it was meant to be seen in all its visual splendor.
Widely considered one of the greatest films of the 20th century, 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) was originally released on April 4, 1968, igniting the imaginations of both critics and audiences.
With the film, Kubrick redefined the limits of moviemaking and cemented his legacy as one of the most revolutionary and influential motion picture directors of all time.
