Sears says it's going to become a grocery store

Remember when Sears was an anchor tenant at the Toronto Eaton Centre? While those days are long gone, considering Nordstrom and Uniqlo have replaced it, Sears is looking to revitalize some of its existing Canadian stores by adding a grocery department.

As the Canadian Press reports today, Sears Canada has signed a deal with two major supermarkets and will begin selling groceries at some of its stores.

It's still unclear which stores will offer food and which grocery chain Sears parterned with.

According to the Canadian Press, Sears Canada is struggling - year over year, for instance, its third quarter losses have doubled. But maybe food will get customers back inside the once massive department store.
