Is this the best burger in Leaside?
Leaside is about to do battle -- burger battle. Starting next Monday, seven pubs and restaurants in the neighbourhood will throw their hat in the ring for the title of "best Leaside burger," the winner of which is selecting by diners who can cast a vote between August 11th and 25th. Participants include Against The Grain Urban Tavern, Grilltime, McSorely's, Originals, Shoeless Joe's, South St. Burger Co., and The Leaside Pub.
The battle lasts two weeks, just so folks actually have a bit of time to get out and try a few burger varieties. I doubt that anyone other than the most enthusiastic beef eaters will try all seven, but one suspects that neighbourhood folks already have their favourites. If this all sounds a bit gimmicky, lighten up -- the competition is held for charity, and a buck a burger will go to the SickKids Foundation in memory of Georgia Grace Walsh. Now you don't need to feel guilty about indulging on a a juicy burger, if ever you did.
