Gears BikesGears bike shop is probably best known for its spacious Mississauga location, but the store also opened a Leaside location earlier this year. Active in the Ontario race scene via team sponsorships, the store also offers indoor cycling classes in both the winter and summer. Less oriented around utility bikes, this is a place to go when you're looking for road and mountain bikes from the enthusiast to pro level. Both locations feature a good selection of clothing and accessories.

Great selection, great service and dog friendly, too. See Sarah when you go, she was really helpful and knowledgeable.

...and see Ian for your custom bike fitting, included in the purchase price of your bike. The man's a pro. Dude knows bikes.

The Laird shop is a great place to check out the latest racing tech and clothes. Not like your average shop, where the bikes are crammed together on racks; this is a showroom with lots of space, new carpeting, chic lighting etc... even has a coffee bar. The staff love to show off the bikes and chat. Too bad I can't afford their bikes, but I did buy a tube of chamois lube!

I purchased a Giant AnyRoad 1 from the Mississauga store and I love it. They have a great selection of bikes & accessories and the AnyRoad was difficult to find. The sales staff was very knowledgeable and had a great attitude. Ben spent a lot of time fitting me to the bike and did a great job and when it was time to prep the bike, the service team was awesome. I've been riding bikes all my life, I am now 48 yrs old, have dealt with many shops over the years and this is the BEST bike shop I have ever dealt with!

Great shop. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. They have a very strong race team and real riders working there, which means they hold to a high standard on service and general bike knowledge. Hell, just standing around chatting I got some great racing tips from Sean (former pro & current coach).
If you want a really good fitting, get Ian Smith there to do it. Very thorough, made a world of difference to my ride. Service dept is also very good, and very organized, and will explain repairs to you. They also dealt seamlessly with a warranty issue I had with a Specialized saddle, got me a loaner while they dealt with the company, & eventually got me a replacement. (For the record, don't buy a Specialized Romin Pro Titanium. Very comfortable but very fragile -- and I'm not a big rider.)
