WasabiWasabi in Richmond Hill is big. Really big. Think cavernous, open-concept paradise of sushi consumption, where you can enjoy the AYCE experience from start to finish as you watch chefs prepare your food right before you eat it. With seating for approximately 450, don't worry about finding a table for your party, but be prepared for a lot of noise during busy times. A full bar, a range of desserts, and Chinese food options means the $11.99 for lunch and $20.99 for dinner will get you variety and value.

The food is pretty good, and the variety is unparalleled in my experience. I would definitely go back. There were two negatives though. The really limited availability of the choice items, for example, snow crab legs come out once every half an hour, and if you aren't first or maybe second in line then you haven't a chance, and I never ever saw any of the labelled tempura shrimp. Also, some of our sushi never arrived, and we had to order one item at least 3 times before it came through. No surf clam despite being on the menu, but then, does anybody ever have it?

Its name is wasabi...but it has one of the worst wasabi that i have ever eaten. I basically eat wasabi without soy sauce, and it tastes like nothing. Not strong at all. How can i eat my sushi without wasabi???? maybe next time if i eat there I have to bring my own wasabi ...sigh

The sushi itself is nothing special and a little plain. However, there's a ton of food from the buffet to choose from including a huge bowl of self-serve seaweed salad. Service was surprisingly fast for sushi, but they only gave us 10 salmon sashimi the first time we ordered 30. I wouldn't go here on a date because it does get pretty loud with families, but a group meal would be good.
