Table 17Table 17 is a new spot in Riverside that is already packed almost every night of the week. The restaurant is divided into two rooms and features huge mirrors, chalk board wine menus, stunning chandeliers and great food. Make sure to order a side of the fresh cut fries.

I had gone here with a group of friends (6). Not one of us enjoyed our meal.
Steak was chewy like rubber, vegetables were soggy and over cooked, pasta dish was totally flavorless and the desserts were just awful.
Complete waste of money and an evening.

Whatever you do, don't get the lemon tart for dessert. I gave up after one spoonful but my dining companion struggled through this overly sour concoction with a pained look on his face. The hot balls appetizers were great and our meals were fine but this dessert ruined the end of the evening.
The mixed drinks were also expensive.

Was seriously disappointed in this spot after all the hype. A restaurant like this is a splurge for me, but I've had much better meals at the much more affordable Hanoi 3 Seasons just down the street, or at the price comparable Tomi-Kro. White wine was served ice cold and ruined the taste. My girlfriend's striploin was overcooked and my pasta average and sticky. Don't bother.

Good food, terrible service. I mean, totally clueless service. Like here's your meal, see you never - type of service.

Too bad, there is a nice ambiance in there.

The atmosphere is ok. Service was good and attentive. The food was a disappointment. The hot balls were tasteless rice with even more tasteless sauces. The pasta was les than ordinary and clumpy. The duck was oily and very saturated. Not good for my stomach. The wine was great, we brought that. Will not go back.

My partner and I went with a groupon - we were told to mention this when making the reservation. But then we were sat right by the door, in the smaller room with the bar, which was noisier and had ne atmosphere - not a good impression. The service was absolutely terrible. The whole point of groupon is to get people in that wouldn't have necessarily come otherwise, impresss them so that they come back and reccommend you to their friends, etc. Our server ignored us throughout the meal while being very attentive to the 5 person table next to us that were getting more bottles of the wine. Food was ok, but not in any way amazing. The lamb was so rich/oily that it gave me a stomach ache and I couldn't finish it. Agree with Angela above about the hot balls. Will not be going there again.

We made a reservation for Friday night, and called earlier in the week to confirm our reservation. We were told TWICE that we were all set.

When we arrived on Friday night they told us that there was no reservation, and that they could NOT accommodate us, and asked us to leave. Barely an apology, and when we asked for recommendations for another resto in the area (at prime dinner time on a Friday night), he looked bothered and pained to answer.

Apparently even though we confirmed twice, they had mistakenly put our reso in for Saturday night. We absolutely did not book for Sat night because we came from Niagara-on the-Lake for one night only.

Any good restauranteur would have admitted their mistake and made sure that they redeemed themselves with a fabulous meal and great service.

Seriously shocked to read these bad reviews. This place is one of my favourite spots in the city. Everything about it is top notch. Food, service, atmosphere--all amazing.

My friend the Foodie/ Wine lover who lives in the east end wanted to meet in his neighborhood for dinner.. Our tab is usually between $300 to $500, yeah we enjoy drinks, food and few blts of wine.. I was the first to arrive and ordered a few Premium dbl Vodka Cran juices, lotsa ice, The dark haired waitress was Anoyed and told me i wanted Cosmos.. I said no since there usually is cointreau in cosmos..off she went with her attitude .. When my buddy arrived we talked business for few minutes when the same waitress kept egging us on to order food.. We finnally gave in to her pushy attitude and started talking food with her .. I asked her a few question on the food prep and her eyes rolled back behind her head . She got angry when she had to stomp back to the kitchen to get information about food .. She then took our food order and quickly walked away.. few mins later we realised we have no wine , I waved her back to the table , she arrived and said WHAT out loud !! are you kidding me, we simply wanted to order a btl of wine.. enough is enough i thought this is crazy I was not going to spend a few hundred dollars to be abused by a waitress in any restaurant .. we canceled the food order, paid for the drinks and left.. as we were leaving the other waitress , nice light brown hair girl had heard the camossion , apologised and offered us a table next to the bar and offered to be our server.. unfortunatly we had lost our appetite... along with many other customers after reading the posts on this blog !

Greeted at the door by a waiter with a bad attitude and worse breath. Service from other waiter was better - but barely attentive and forgot order - wait for service at times - and place was not busy plus 4 servers on.

Wine list: 2007 Chianti Classico - $75 - tax and tip way over $100. Expecting decently big red. Really disappointing. The List has nothing under $50 - anything under 70 is CDN - anything decent over $100. So against better judgement had a second bottle.
Starters: 50/50 but limited choices - nothing tasty. Presentation poor.

Mains: two of us had flat iron steaks. Upsold on a sauce. (bernaise on the web no longer available - pity) Sauce was total waste - but not as bad as the steak. REALLY Small. big chunk of fat on one end. Ordered MR - came MW. Overcooked. Companion's was 50% bigger - no fat. WTF??! Two other companions had the Ribs. Not bad - but... Not remotely memorable. Ordered brussel sprouts as a share. Arrived after dinner 90% finished (no charge) but soggy and in a broth layered with congealed ? bacon fat? 1 bowl split 4 ways: We left 2/3rds in the bowl.Most of the rest on the plates. Great frites (Thank God!!).

Dessert: chocolate torte - have tasted better from Loblaws. Bland Bland Bland. Companions shared sticky toffee thing. Said was good.

All in all, absolute disappointment. 2 bottles of wine, 2 shared starters, coffees - $330 - $400 with tip. Never going back.
