Sin & Redemption

Sin & RedemptionSin & Redemption is a busy resto lounge capitalizing on the increased foot traffic brought to the area by the AGO, but their beer list reflects their target market, bland tourist types. There's no reason to have Budweiser, Stella Artois and both of their light counterparts on tap anywhere. Other than that, their selection is pretty decent, but I couldn't help but think about what they would have offered in place of those four.

After a film at the AGO, I thought it would be a relaxing experience to have a beer and some food at Sin and Redemption.

Beer: Looks like a decent selection, except that they are out of everything except for a couple of choices. My choice of beer was served in a ridiculous tall glass.

Food: I had a burger and it actually made me ill. Which is strange, since it was way overcooked. PRobably a frozen patty, in any case it had that squared-off shape that screams awfulness.

Service: Sarcastic, rude waiter. Insisted on putting us at a strange half-table with obstructed leg room in a corner, even though other tables were free.

Great location, but deserves to close. If you're at AGO, walk past it.

Ignore the mgualt, obviously lowbrow.

Their selection is great and the staff is fine. Beers are poured into glasses that best express the flavours and scents of the brew. These glasses are from the brewers and only enhance the experience.

For anybody tired of beer bistro and bier market, make a visit, the atmosphere and prices are great.

One of my favorite bars in the city... great beer selection at very reasonable prices, and pretty good (but not great) food too.

My work mates and I have been going to Sin & Redemption at least once a week for two years or more. Great bar staff - didn't sit down before he'd poured our Stiegl, house red and Rogue. We've always dropped a whack of cash and a great tip. But tonight? What happened? My workmate footed the bill and I realized we'd been overcharged for at least two Rogues. Not cool, guys. Is it really worth it? We won't be back. And that includes the owner's other establishment, the Village Idiot. No, I can't prove anything, no, I didn't cause a fuss. Call us stupid, we felt betrayed. Caveat emptor. Translation, buyer beware.

Best vegetarian couscous! Frequent lunch stop after a visit to the AGO...never disappointed with the couscous or the beer. Great service....very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
