Scarborough Grand Seafood RestaurantFor locals who often yum cha (go for tea), Scarborough Grand Seafood Restaurant is one of the timeless spots in Scarborough for an easy brunch with a large variety of dim sum a la carte including, get ready... roasted quail, which is divine! Grand Seafood Restaurant is way in the back of the Chinese-Philippino 'Dragon Centre' Plaza and offers no nonsense, very affordable dim sum, with a late lunch happy hour price of $1.50 for all sizes. Another big open area restaurant, the vibe is similar to Ruby or Bright Pearl: a coliseum of clinking cutlery, bustle and close to psychedelic proportions of lively chatter.

I don't suggest this restauant with several reasons : 1/ located on Sheppard Av E., one block west of Midland Av., which kinda old area and think about the sanitation behind the kitchen, compare with the restaurant(s) on Hwy #7...etc., 2/ I personally even tried the food @their Happy Hour (a.k.a. special price - same price for all Small up to Large dishes from around 1pm -230pm approx.) but the food wasn't that good at all.

I would highly suggest 2 Chinese restaurants :
1/ Spring Villa Chinese Cuisine

7301 Woodbine Ave, Markham, ON L3R 3V7
in between Steelcase & Denison; I love to go there almost every single AM on the weekend...but need to get there around 9am, asap., otherwise, you might need to wait for the table for a very long time. The price per dim sum is a bit pricey than others' Chinese restaurant, but I tell....it's worth.

2/ another Chinese restaurant is located in Times Square (Hwy 7 & Leslie)...sorry forgot the name, but it located not inside Times Square (definitely name the named as Dynasty Resturant - I personally not a big fan of Dynasty!). Once you get into Times Square, that restaurant is near the far end corner of Times Square, facing the outdoor parking lots. The best is egg tarts...and believe or not, they only serve in the early afternoon special tea time around 1-230pm. Once you tried one tart, the rest of it is all yours in your stomach!!

Enjoy!!!

What a snob. Just because this long standing restaurant is located in the older part of Scarborough Chinatown, does not mean it is a bad place. We have been going here for years. Still the same owners, employees and great quality of food and service.
