Popped into Paupers (HAH!) this morning for the first time. Great place, friendly staff, and i think ive found the hidden gem for Breakfast on Bloor. Massive portions and very reasonable price. Will return!

I've found Pauper's service to be hit and miss...I was at the rooftop patio a couple of weeks ago and we waited 15 minute and no one came to speak to us. When we got up to leave, a server came over and said curtly "I'm really busy"...they did not apologize for the delay. We spoke to the manager and he didn't seem to care either...not sure if I'll be going back there!

Had a terrible experience with the service here. Slow, unfriendly, mixed up our orders... bad all around. Definitely doesn't deserve to be on the Best of Toronto list -- there are way better pubs in the same area.

INTOLERABLE INCOMPETENCE : I made a reservation three weeks in advance for a group of thirty, and I confirmed the reservation with a manager six hours before my event. Of course they had no space for my group when I arrived, so we had to take over a few tables. José (a manager) promised us free food in exchange for the error. However, he refused to deliver the food (30min later) because we had not yet purchased enough drinks, even though an obvious majority of us had already bought at least one drink (only 30min into the evening). He then threatened to clear us out for no apparent reason. When my close friend attempted to reason with José, he became very rude and walked off halfway through the conversation. We left for a better bar and I will never return.
