Oishi SushiOishi Sushi is close enough to the York campus to serve as a favourite for sit-down Japanese and Chinese cuisine, and it doesn't hurt that York students are offered 10% off their final bill (though just for dinner). All-you-can-eat sushi during lunch at Oishi is also a budget-friendly $9.99.

As a York student who went here for a friend's birthday, I have to say I don't know HOW this restaurant got into the top 10. The service was nice, but the food was horrible. We ordered spicy tuna, and it smelled rancid. There was a distinct taste to it that killed my appetite. The buffet was mediocre at best. My friends and I vowed never to come back.

Please, save your money and your health, and go to another restaurant.

Not sure what the other person above/below said about bad fish or what not. to me the restaurant was clean, atmosphere was good, and the food was good for its value 11$ for lunch.
id go there again.

was there some days ago, lovely food served by friendly staff.
We had AYCE, and got served right away even though there where many customers there.
Included: ice cream, small cakes, fruit, asian cuisine etc

recommended!! :)

March 30,2012 - we live near the place. Loved it when it opened we went at least 3 times a month. We were there 2 months ago and it was awful, figured they were having a bad day. Let it slid. Went back a week later all the food was on the cool, to cold side. Told waitress she said ok thanks very nice. Got up to tell sushi making guy he smiled. I left without paying. Went back last week horribly dirty now, food very cold, place was empty of guests at 620 on a Fri nite. Buffet looked like lunch leftovers. They wouldn't make fresh dish for us. We spoke to mgr. Sad to say they refused to help us or another couple that came in after us. They wanted us to eat the horrible food. All 4 of us left. I called health unit on them Mon morning. I was told they are looking at the restaurant as a possible shut down. Don't go folks save your cash and the risk of getting really sick. Very disappointed cause it use to be so good and close to home. We are searching around for somewhere else to get our sushi fix. Deb

The food here is just horrible I honestly don't know how it got on the top ten list. The food itself is just something you would find at a fast food restaurant. The fish isn't fresh at all. I live 10 minutes away from it so I would just go there as a last resort. I mean it would be okay of you never had sushi before. But for an experience sushi eater, this place is just awful.
