Morgans on the DanforthMorgans on the Danforth has opened in what used to be the Taps & Tales space just east of Greenwood Avenue. On the menu? Pub food and craft beer.

Beverage that will please even the most selective palate, great food served by friendly staff in a warm cozy atmosphere.

What happened to Taps & Tales? That wasn't a bad little spot.

This has become a frequent haunt for my wife and me. It's pretty close to exactly what I'm look for in a public house. A decent selection of beer and food with some love. Their specials have often pulled my attention, but there are so many thing on the menu that are favourites that i don't usually stray. The specials often are outside the box, which might make up for the standards that appear on the menu. But everyone needs a clean place that feels a bit like home, with soft lighting (dimmer switches at the booths mean you can do whatever you want) and just enough patter from other diners that you can talk freely without being overheard.

The Morgan Fried Chicken is good. My wife loves her Ceasar salads, and says their's is a good one. She loves their nachos, just a slight shift on the usual there works well. The Double Smoke burger is also great. Speaking of smoke. This is the only time I order Scotch. The Smoked Old Fashioned is a great experience. Served in beaker straight from Grade 9 Science class that has had a hint of charcoal smoked into it. You pour from the beaker onto a perfect ball of ice. It's work for me.
