Should win an award for worst restaurant name in Toronto. I'll admit I've never been remotely interested in the place for that reason alone.

If it were candle lit, it would be better so not to see the chipped walls, and splatter around the booths. While we were waiting, the bartender showed us the wine list, then disappeared (it's a small bar, where does one go?) for a good 10 plus minutes. We were sitting there to have a pre-dinner drink, while waiting for a table. It was then that I started to wonder just how much this place had changed since my last visit 3 years ago. Sadly, the service was so poor that they did not ask if we wanted more wine during the meal, they didn't even come to ask how everything was. The herbs to my calamari were so burnt that all I could taste was burnt herbs- on what should have been a lovely roasted tomato/basil grilled calamari. The chef must have prepared our mains at the same time as our appies b/c my main was served with a skin on my sauce from being under a hot lamp for so long. The crepes were bland, no zest of lemon there. We were not shown the dessert menu, not asked if we wanted coffee or tea... and when we asked for the bill, the waitress said, sure and then headed out the door for a smoke... Then when she returned she went right to sorting cutlery (a noise that persisted throughout the entire meal- do that in the kitchen! not in the restaurant?!!!) The reviews and photos that exist online are not at all indicative of our experience. I will never return and am so disappointed that I will write this review on as many sites as I can find, so that others can get a true picture of this once good romantic spot.

That's sad! We used to go there...well, it was amazing about 10 years ago when Johnny K owned it.
They owne Pan back then as well. The wine list was large and had some very eclectic choices - the food was amazing. David Davidson was cooking back then, and Johnny's wife was cooking at Pan. I think the new owner doesn't really "get it"! Perhaps you should send this review to him as well.

I honestly don't understand the above comments... are you sure you were at Lolita's Lust??

This place is amazing. The service was impeccable - very helpful. The food was on par with the service. Delicious! My lamb shank was perfect. The Broccoli Rabe was cooked right for once!!! I've ordered it at many places, and Lolita's is the first that got it right in a while. I crave good food and they are my new favourite.

Really though... check it out! It's a perfect place to bring a date, or to spend a special occasion at!
