La Cabana

Decent Mexican food can be hard to come by in Toronto, but La Cabana on the Danforth ranks up there as one of the better options.

This place is just okay. Nothing too special. It's a small place run by a really nice Mexican man who provides excellent service and has the best accent of all time. He was the most authentic thing about the whole place. The dining area is nothing nothing fancy, it's actually pretty cheap looking, with really cheap plastic plates and tiny plastic cups. The meals are pretty cheap, ranging between $8 to $15. I had the chicken quesidilla which was pretty tasty but lacking in the flavour department. I was expecting something a little more authentic. The rice was like, Uncle Ben's or something and you get the smallest amount of salad ever. Also, the coffee was pretty watered down. The service is also painfully slow, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. I didn't absolutely despise the experience, but I don't think I'd go back there.
