La HaciendaLa Hacienda serves up big plates of Tex Mex on Queen West. It's certainly plated its share of nacho orders throughout its 22-year run. Classic round yellow chips and high-quality white cheddar set the foundation for these clean, no-fuss nachos ($10.95). Homemade guacamole and salsa stand out for their taste and freshness and the zucchini bits add an unexpected delight for your taste buds.

The worst restaurant in the city. After all these years I can't understand how they remain open. The service is pathetic. The cooks never seem interested or in a hurry to actually prepare anything. The wait staff really does a good job at making people wait. I stopped going years ago and went back for another try the other weekend. After 30 minutes of waiting for the waitress to acknowledge we were on the patio we decided to leave. Strangely enough this was the same time the rest of the patio got up and walked out because they had been waiting longer than us.

Hopefully their food is worth the terrible service.

i'm with jeremy.

i was there on May 24 monday. The service was horrible. When I first got there, the patio was a little "busy" but it did not warrant the poor service we got. Since we were a big table, the waitress told us that we'll be auto-grat'ed. We had no problem with it, but if you're gonna force me to tip you 20%, a little better service would've been nice.

as for the nachos, i got the chicken nachos. it was just chips, cheese and chicken. there was no peppers or any other vegetables or herb on it (as pictured). Also, it came with just salsa, no sour cream and I had to pay extra for guacamole. It was alright, but I chips, cheese and chicken...it's pretty hard to "f" it up.

My friend and I went on Sunday to have a bite on the patio - and the music speakers were right over our heads. I'm hard of hearing and she - normal hearing - found it too loud - we asked the server if it was quieter up front, he said it was the same. I then asked if it was possible to turn the music down slightly. He says "Sorry but we don't do that for customers". Like were some miscreants. So we got up and left.

This was not only the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten, it was the worst meal I have had in Toronto. Both the service and drinks were fine but the food was really just awful. The nacho chips are the same kind you get at a Cineplex, the cheese was stringy and tasted processed, and everything was just generally uninspired and poor quality. For the love of God and good Mexican food don't go.
