La Hacienda

La HaciendaLa Hacienda serves up big plates of Tex Mex on Queen West. It's certainly plated its share of nacho orders throughout its 22-year run. Classic round yellow chips and high-quality white cheddar set the foundation for these clean, no-fuss nachos ($10.95). Homemade guacamole and salsa stand out for their taste and freshness and the zucchini bits add an unexpected delight for your taste buds.

Love LaHa! Chicken burrito is really good.

The worst restaurant in the city. After all these years I can't understand how they remain open. The service is pathetic. The cooks never seem interested or in a hurry to actually prepare anything. The wait staff really does a good job at making people wait. I stopped going years ago and went back for another try the other weekend. After 30 minutes of waiting for the waitress to acknowledge we were on the patio we decided to leave. Strangely enough this was the same time the rest of the patio got up and walked out because they had been waiting longer than us.

Hopefully their food is worth the terrible service.

i'm with jeremy.

i was there on May 24 monday. The service was horrible. When I first got there, the patio was a little "busy" but it did not warrant the poor service we got. Since we were a big table, the waitress told us that we'll be auto-grat'ed. We had no problem with it, but if you're gonna force me to tip you 20%, a little better service would've been nice.

as for the nachos, i got the chicken nachos. it was just chips, cheese and chicken. there was no peppers or any other vegetables or herb on it (as pictured). Also, it came with just salsa, no sour cream and I had to pay extra for guacamole. It was alright, but I chips, cheese and's pretty hard to "f" it up.

My friend and I went on Sunday to have a bite on the patio - and the music speakers were right over our heads. I'm hard of hearing and she - normal hearing - found it too loud - we asked the server if it was quieter up front, he said it was the same. I then asked if it was possible to turn the music down slightly. He says "Sorry but we don't do that for customers". Like were some miscreants. So we got up and left.

This was not only the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten, it was the worst meal I have had in Toronto. Both the service and drinks were fine but the food was really just awful. The nacho chips are the same kind you get at a Cineplex, the cheese was stringy and tasted processed, and everything was just generally uninspired and poor quality. For the love of God and good Mexican food don't go.

Well, have to agree with the basic store bought rounds covered in cheese, really for the sake of the article about the best nachos in Toronto, they make the grade at a 4/10. They are crisp and clean but that is about all they have going for them. Nice patio.

HORRIBLE service!! Server ignored several customers and snapped at the ones he did interact with. Food was ok but the experience with the server left a very poor impression. Will NEVER return.

Service was slow, staff were smoking on the patio ignoring customers. Nachos lacked enough cheese and salsa. No ice was avail for my ginger-ale. How this place stays in business is beyond me.

no better place for mid day margaritas on a patio. afternoon is the best time to go, when it's the owner and his wife. portions are way too small at night! the tex mex stuff is decent, but even better are the homemade soups and amazing cornbread!

The chili I had here recently was amazing. It tasted fresh and paired with the homemade corn bread it was a very filling meal. The atmosphere was relaxed; i will be back.

Stopped in today for lunch and wish we kept on walking. The chips and salsa were dissapointing. It was basically a handful of generic brand tortilla chips with a quarter cup of watery, tasteless tomatoes. The beef burrito wasn't any better, unless you normally like soggy lettuce and hamburger helper in them. I cant believe the prices they charge for this food...I guess it's all going to rent. The service wasn't that much better, we had to wait half an hour for our food ( there were about 4 tables including us). This place needs Gordon Ramsey ASAP.
