Kuni Sushi Ya
Kuni Sushi Ya on Baldwin Street is well known for their ongoing all you can eat sushi deal. Their large front patio fills up in the summer months.

Horrible attitude and salmon sashimi tasted very off. Went last night for a late dinner. The kitchen items were good. With the exception of the yam tempura rolls, the majority of maki/sushi/rolls were good. However, something smelled and tasted off about the salmon sashimi. When we told the lady (presumably the manager or owner) she went nuts. Screaming, swearing in Cantonese, etc. After a few minutes of this (there were other customers in the store and we finished our meals) my friend had enough after overhearing her say she was going to charge us $10 for the bad salmon. He ate the bad sashimi simply to show her we could easily have finished the sashimi. Then she slapped a random $5 charge on our $20.99 bills. When I asked her why she said it was a 'service charge' and not an included tip. I checked the menu, told her it said no such thing, and paid the $20.99. Trust me, neither myself nor my friend are picky eaters and have enjoyed sushi from a variety of locations, this was the worst tasting/smelling salmon sashimi we've ever experienced. I actually almost felt like throwing up and had stomach problems afterwords. These people need to learn how to conduct business, their entire staff were badmouthing us in Cantonese when we were nothing but polite about the situation. Never going here again.

Psss heres a tip....

there's very few JAPANESE people in Toronto, much less real Japanese restaurants.

Most of Thai and Japanese restaurants in Toronto are owned by Chinese people. Even some of the Vietnamese restaurants.
