Green Room Cafe
296 Brunswick Street (alley entrance behind Future's bakery)
Phone: 416.929.3253

The Green Room is as hard to find as it is to describe. A two-floor lofty old space in the alley behind Bloor West & Brunswick Ave, this dim-ly lit bohemian hideaway offers cheap eats, cheap drinks and one heck of an eclectic music mix.

great for beers but the food is gross, except if you order something simple like homefries. The fish is always over cooked, salad dressings are too acidic and sauces on the mains are greasy. The veggie pizza appetizer is an insult to the intelligence - Frozen bagged vegetables on a wimpy pitta in bland sauce...not even worth finishing. the cappucino machine has been out of order for at least 5 months, what a disgrace.
the samosas weren't bad, actually! the nachos weren't great, but they're super cheap and do the trick
Ok, former GR employee secrets here:
@ Alisa: We haven't ever had homefries, so im not sure what you're talking about there. However, agreed on the fish. Don't eat it, it's microwaved. The capp machine isn't out of order, we just hate taking the time to make cappuccinos when we're over capacity with no bouncers, so we lie.
@ laurel: the Nachos suck hard nowadays, and the samosas are purchased frozen from Ghazale down the street, so they're edible.
