George's Deli & BBQGeorge's Deli & BBQ is an Annex stalwart that was packed to the gills on a recent rainy afternoon, and it's no secret why. The window rotisserie unit was jammed with golden, dripping hens and the men behind the counter were serving up an addictive mix of friendly banter and salty, juicy, crunchy goodness. My chicken fairly fell off the bone and they didn't spare the crispy fries or the diner-style gravy. Quarter chicken combo, $7.50.

There is a George's Deli and BBQ Chicken near Queen and Coxwell. Is this a chain or are they owned by the same person? Can I expect the same experience at another location?

There a couple of other locations listed besides this one: Jarvis & Dundas St E and Danforth & Main St but nothing about Queen & Coxwell. I'd like to know if its a chain as well - more importantly if they are all equally good.

George's is awesome! As far as I know they are a "loose" chain and they aren't owned by the same person/company.I was introduced to George's by a friend who took me the Dundas St. location, which I remember was good, but it's been a few years since then. I went to one on Coxwell and it was horrible! Dried out chicken, soggy fries, dumpy place. I mentioned my experience to the lady at the Bathurst store, and she mentioned that the Coxwell store makes the other two locations look really bad with their crappy food.

The Dundas location is the Original locations of George's, it's been there 30 years and the food is consistently great. The Bathurst was the second location to open up, but both were opened by George. I'm not sure of the other locations but these two have never done me wrong. Great chicken, great poutine, and roast beef sandwiches to dies for.

What a great spot. The staff was super friendly and the chicken... delicious. The half chicken and fries is a lot of food for one person- so make sure you have an appetite!

45 years in Toronto and I've never had a worse meal. 1 cup Minute rice, 1 _really tiny piece of boney chicken, surely server - all yours for $7.50. I complained nicely and got insulted and threatened. I had to walk out to the shouts of the owner threatening to call the cops because I'd said the chicken was really small. Oddly there's a terrific place selling the same menu items 2 blocks west at lesser price

I frequent this place quite often. The staff don't really get customer service but they do try to please so insults to their meals aren't taken well but it's the charm of the staff that keeps people coming back. It's a pleasure to give my business directly to the people who own the place rather than a big multi-national chain. Chicken and burgers are excellent and beat any other place in the neighbourhood. Frankly, I don't mind if bt takes his business elsewhere so I can get served faster.
